MKTG 345 Week 12 LinkedIn Article

Image
The article we reviewed on LinkedIn today was about how artificial intelligence will effect on jobs in the business field. The article goes into talking about accounting/finance, analytics/marketing, entrepreneurship and HR management. However the part about Business Analytics and marketing is more focused on me so I chose to read that section carefully. Luckily the short term and long term for analytics jobs looks good with the introduction to AI. The skills needed to stay up with AI in this field are being able to think critical thinking with data analysis, SQL, and business intelligence. I feel as though after finishing my degree from this university I am able to successfully complete 2 of the 3 main fields. However SQL was not offered at the time of my class registration so I will have to research the topic on my own. The curriculum says that using Microsoft access satisfies this requirement but in my opinion if its so important we should be focusing on this as a core class.

Today in class I read an introduction to a book called Surfing The Tsunami. This introduction is mainly focused around the idea of artificial intelligence depleting job sectors over the next 20+ years. What this article suggests is that the major artificial intelligence companies like google have started a snowball effect picking up more and more intelligence as time passes. By the time the next decade starts I believe most of our factories will be fully automated. This opens up the fields of engineering and computer science but eliminating blue collar factory jobs. The article does suggest three things to do to make sure AI doesn't take away your employment. First is you need to Adapt. You need to look ahead and adapt yourself to the changing workforce. you also need to Adopt AI platforms and become managers of AI. You also need to Adept to AI by getting involved in the development of new technology.

MKTG 345 Week 10 Twitter Analytics

Image
Twitter analytics is really interesting because it looks at you as a tweeter and examines what you do on this social media platform. What I like to look at on Twitters analytics is impressions and profile visits. From small experiments that I have done on my Twitter account include trying to increase my impressions per month. There is an emerging blog out on the east coast that is popular among the 20-30 year old male demographic and it is called Barstool Sports. Their mission statement states that they need to produce content, content, content. This means that they don't try and create long complex blogs, they hit the cool and interesting stories and spread it out over various social networks. I used the idea of producing quantity over quality and I noticed that my impressions, followers, and profile hits dramatically increased. So on your own start rifling off tweets one month and compare it to your last months data points. Content, content, content!

MKTG 345 Week 10 YouTube Analytics

Image
YouTube like many social networking sites has now introduced an analytics section to their service. The difference between YouTube and many other sites is that YouTube pays filmmakers for views on videos and subscribers. This makes the analytics section very pressing because they can use this data to make more money by expanding their viewership. The people that make the most money off YouTube are the vlogers and viral video creators. Vlogs are video blogs that are usual daily. This means filmmakers have the most subscribers and video views. The best part of YouTube is you can go viral by creating anything. Some of the things that I am personally subscribed to are the Googan Squad and DallMyD. Both of these vlogers are making lots of money based on their page views even though they are not your average vlogs. Googan Squad is a group of amateur fishing vlogers who came together to make cool fishing videos. DallMyD is a vlog about diving in local rivers and finding his "treasure....

The three most important rules to be successful when things are not going your way is to: 1) Never Give Up 2) Never Give Up 3) Never Give Up. This seems really repetitive but it's true you can not give up. Some things you can analyze to make you more successful are to start working smarter, try a different approach, know you are unique and market yourself that way. Also if you own the book look at page 101, there is a table listed that will help you analyze what you are looking for in employment. In conclusion NEVER GIVE UP!
