MKTG Week 4 Google Analytics Chapter 3

Image
Chapter three of Introduction to Google Analytics is Getting Traffic for Google Analytics. This chapter is all about generating traffic so you can use google analytics to search trends. These generative tactics start at basic social media and moves into promotions. The easiest way to generate traffic to your website is by sharing it on social media. By sharing you make the site available to more people by introducing that it is there. On websites where people can re tweet or share posts you can get the information to more people than just your direct followers. Another way to generate traffic is to promote your posts on social media. There is an option to promote your tweets on twitter that you pay for. This is a simple way to generate traffic but will cost you money. Here is an example of a sponsored tweet.

MKTG 345 Week 4 WCYP 3

Chapter three in What Color is Your Parachute is titled, There Are Over Ten Million Vacancies Available Each Month. All this chapter is about is job hunting and how to fill all of the open spots available. This chapter gives you a few points of thinking but also states that this changes yearly and you need to stay with the trends. The first point of the chapter job handing is an art. This translates to you need to be creative in hunting for a job and paint a picture with your skill set. The next idea is that job hunting is mysterious. Things just tend to happen during the job hunt so take what opportunities open themselves to you. Another hint for job hunting in this chapter is that there is no always wrong or right way to get a job. I know many stories where people stalk a hiring manager to get a job. This is probably not a good option but it is not always wrong. The last hint from WCYP is job hunting should be a full time job. If you are not constantly looking for new employm...

MKTG 345 Week 4 Metric Analysis of Dreamchaser

Image
Below is a few metrics from the google analytics dashboard for Dreamchaser. The first metric I decided to look at was the amount of new traffic on the site. The graphic below shows traffic for the past month. This graph shows us that we have had 19% of viewers on the site for the first time and the other 81% were returning to the site This data helps us analyse that out of the 120 sessions how many people have come back for another session  Another metric I analysed was the top sources. This graphic shows how people came to the site. From this data we see most people have done a google search to get to the site It also shows what websites can direct you to Dreamchaser and how effective each one is  The last metric I analysed was sessions. This chart shows us how many people entered the site on a specific day. This session graph shows us that on there is a trend of about 15-25 people visiting per day This graph however is not an accurate representatio...

MKTG 345- Blogalytics Chapter 2 Week 3

Image
Blogalytics, also know as blog analytics is all about the data you can pull from a blog or website. This chapter in Introduction to Google Analytics is all about setting up accounts in Blogger and Google Analytics. Both of these platforms are built by Google and require a gmail account. When I was making these accounts we looked into the data drawn from National Tiger Sanctuary. The data drawn by google is scary in my opinion. We can see the demographics of the people visiting the site as well as their interests, web provider, internet browser and many more. This as a consumer seems like a breach of trust but from an analytical standpoint this is a road map to finding a specific target  market.

MKTG 345 WCYP Chapter 2 Week 3

Google is your new resume is a easy way of saying that gaining a job in the past few years is different because of the technology of recruiters. Before the implementation of Google your only way to sell yourself to a possible employer was a sheet of paper (resume) and a list of contacts. Now with the search engine google people have a much easier time judging personality. Below is a list of ways to improve your look on google. The first step is to remove anything not appealing to a possible employer. One example is to remove embarrassing pictures on your Facebook page from your college days where you and your buddies look like you are about to fall over. This does not look appealing to someone who wants to hire you to represent their company. Another thing you can do is expand your Linked-in account. Use all the space provided to sell yourself including experiences on jobs and as many key words as possible to describe your skills. One major point from the book was to make sure you ...

MKTG - Week 2 Intro To Google Analytics

Image
The first chapter in Introduction to Google Analytics is an opener to the book. This chapter is an overview of what you should understand from reading the book and how to understand analytics. When I was reading this chapter one section stood out at me and that was social media marketing. In this short paragraph it talks about getting hits onto your social media pages and posts. Last year I decided to do some experimenting on my twitter account and wanted to see what types of posts had the most interactions and views here are the tweets I posted: What I was able to conclude was to you need to connect to your target audience and have them share or RT the posts to gain more views. The most views I received are posts that have been re tweeted by someone not in my circle of followers. This also increased my followers by 10 in a 3 day span.  When it comes to social media marketing and analytics it is important to increase traffic by engaging people to share your posts and to ...

MKTG 345 - Week 2 WCP Chapter 1

Image
Chapter one in What Color is Your Parachute is all about the changing job of job hunters. They describe the changing job market and also how finding a job has changed over the past few years. The job market has changed because people are changing jobs more rapidly than before. The job market post WWII was manufacturing jobs. These jobs are basically gone in today's US economy. These jobs were long term and people tended to stay in one position. The next generation the baby boomers will change jobs on average 17 times from 18-48. This is immensely higher than the generation prior and that is because of the changing market. The next generation is even more different that the one prior. My generation will rapidly change employers and make job hunters work more often because of increasing tech. This is just a small description of how much work job hunters have had in the sat generations. Job hunting has changed immensely with the introduction of the internet. The introductio...

Marketing 348 Week 3 Artificial Intelligence

Image
Artificial intelligence is taking jobs away, but also creating a more sophisticated work force. I feel like artificial intelligence is good and bad for business. The positive part of artificial intelligence is streamlining the business process, minimizing labor and decreasing opinion based reasoning. Some of the negative aspects of this new technology is decreasing human interaction in the marketplace and ability to change the data to show false conclusions. When I think of artificial intelligence I think of IBM's Watson winning Jeopardy against the two best players in the games history. IBM was able to create a computer that could answer verbal questions and recite back an answer with precise accuracy. With this technology already out there its only a matter of time until the computers start doing jobs at a higher level than one physical employee. The first job that will probably diminish are jobs that were sent over seas like call centers. The process of replacing these jobs w...
